The Wellington County OPP canvassed homes in Erin on April 1 in regards to daytime break-ins and thefts.
“Police have been investigating an increased amount of reported break and enters with theft in the rural areas of Erin since September of 2016,” police stated.
“They have typically occurred on the side roads adjacent to the major roadways.”
Police say that during the canvass members of the OPP Auxiliary Unit were able to “educate the public” about the “lock it or lose it” campaign and the Crime Stoppers program.
“Since the canvassing the OPP has received tips of suspicious activities within … Erin and are following up on the information,” police stated in a press release.
